Hello everyone, and thank you so much for checking out my blog.
Before I start posting (hopefully regularly), I wanted to say a quick hello. My name is Nila, and I hope to use this blogging platform as a place to express my ideas and interests. I have a wide variety of hobbies and passions including the beauty industry and cosmetics, ministry and spirituality, learning about alternative self-care practices like massage and crystals, reading (mostly fiction), fashion, saving money and budgeting, and cooking- just to name a few!
Several months ago, I started my own YouTube channel, which you can search for by typing in "Nila McGinnis" in the search bar. It has been a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work! I find that sometimes my weeks are so packed that I don't have enough time to film and edit as much as I'd like to. I've been consistently posting 1 video a week, although there's no rhyme or reason to the days or time I'm posting. That's my current goal for the channel, but I'm finding that it's not enough. I have so many more thoughts that I'd like to share and not enough time to film a video on every single thing! So, I figure that a blog is going to be a really great place for me to easily and conveniently type out my ideas on a much more regular basis.
I know all of the big influencers and advice columns out there say you should try to streamline your content to one specific purpose, but I find that I have so many more interests and thoughts to try and smush them down into one mold. Even the term "lifestyle" blog doesn't appeal to me for this blog because a.) I don't feel trendy enough to give myself that title and b.) I don't necessarily expect that anyone is going to be attempting to copy my "lifestyle" lol. I'm a pretty regular person, and I don't have luxurious products to recommend, supplements to sell you, amazing outfits to show off, or adrenaline-pumping scenarios to write about for you. I love looking at lifestyle blogs myself, but I don't think I am up to that caliber just yet.
I have a lot of blog posts in mind, and if you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

p.s. Isn't that sign-off adorable? My friend at church uses "blessings and hugs" to sign her emails, and I think it is so heart-warming, so I'm going to use that for now. We'll see if I stick with it or can find my own thing.
